There’s nothing quite like that first rumble of your ATV or UTV on an open trail. I love rolling into a campsite where the forest leans into the mountains, and you can just tell adventure’s waiting. Whether you’re hauling a trailer, pitching a tent under the stars, or rolling up to a full-hookup RV campground, the best destinations always seem to mix comfort with a shot of adrenaline.
You’ll find places where you can fish, hike, mountain bike, or even kayak, all with your off-road rig close by. That’s my kind of spot.
Across the country, ATV campgrounds bring off-roading to life. Florida’s sandy stretches, Utah’s coral pink dunes, the rocky Ozarks—each one’s got its own flavor. Plenty of parks now offer ATV rentals, guided rides, and sprawling trails for every skill set.
After a day of kicking up dust, I like to cool off by a lake, maybe hit the general store or arcade, or just relax by the fire under a sky full of stars. That’s living, isn’t it?

Off the trails, you can try your luck at the 300-foot drag strip, hit the mud bogs, or take on the rock crawl and oval track. When you’re done, wash off your rig at the vehicle wash station and grab a bite at the restaurant and tavern.
